someone has introduced me to amazing music... my ears are happy

I have recently come to the realization of what makes me feel content; what makes anyone content. I know that you should never measure your happiness on your relationships with others. As long as you know who you are as a person and are happy with yourself, you will be content in your relationships as well. And if you are okay with being who you are and where you are in life, it only makes you stronger and nothing / no one can break you. It's something you have to learn and find by experience.

Put yourself first. Never sacrifice your own happiness and well being for someone else. Follow your heart, consciously. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people, most of the time, can choose how stressed or happy, how troubled or relaxed they want to be. Choose to be happy. "Mind over matter"Practice the attitude of gratitude. We all have so much to be grateful for.  Be thankful for the many people who assist us, encourage us, teach us, and open doors for us. I am so thankful for the things I have and for my talents and for the knowledge I have aquired in my life. Look past the daily stresses in life and look into nature and realize that the world is such a wonderful place. It's overwhelmingly beautiful, take time to enjoy it. Always love well. Don't ever be afraid to express affection, appreciation, friendship, and warmth to those around you, and they will almost always respond in the most amazing ways!  Be open, take risks and let people know you. Be generous-- it pays off. Work hard. This one comes as a bit of a surprise, but there is tremendous satisfaction in being competent, and joy in completing our assigned tasks. One of the great sources of happiness is to do work that is worthy of you, and to do it well. Learn something new everyday. To be happy, most of us must also be growing, expanding, learning and challenging ourselves. Read, listen, adapt and stretch to accommodate new ideas and new information. Use your body as it was designed. Walk and run, stretch, throw things, and lift things.  Dance!  Exercise is good, and so is making love, mixing up a batch of cookies, or exchanging backrubs. You have a body and it can be either a source of joy, or a source of aches and pains. Your choice. Eat well--avoid toxins and processed foods and your body will thank you.Know your strengths. If someone hurts you--you hurt, you are only human. Take it a day at a time, and make up your mind up to be strong and to keep breathing, keep living, and keep moving forward. You will be okay in the end, it's all perspective. The world is a wonderful place.
